The Principal Conference has gone a long way from 1998 to 2015.
The Abojeb members of the Board headed by its Chairman, Mr. Bjørn Jebsen, its officers and account managers made sure that the participants feel the work-life harmony flavor of the conference. Something different.
The delegates were in for a treat. During the conference proper, the principals enjoyed the surprise flash mob dance by some of Abojeb’s Officers, Fleet and Account Managers. Indeed, Abojeb’s customer-centric culture of delighting the customer through its unconventional ways fetched huge smiles among the delegates.
Abojeb’s Vice-Chairman of the Board, Dito Borromeo, refers to the event as an alignment of the stars.
No less than heads of government institutions taking care of the seafarers’ welfare shared the latest goings on in their respective offices: Dr. Max Mejia of Marina, Atty. Leo Cacdac of POEA, and Congressman Jesulito Manalo of the ANGKLA Party List provided updates on the EMSA audit, safeguarding the crew, and updates on the various bills and government plans in place to protect the rights of the seafarers.
Abojeb’s officers also presented the various programs in response to the needs of the principals and the crew.
Innovations in technology through mobile apps, Human Resources talent management intervention strategies were presented.
All focused on the customers – the principals and their crew.
The One Stop Shop concept was highlighted through the sharing of our PTC group partners – Ms. Karen Avelino of Philcamsat (Training), Dr. Toby Abaya of Health Metrics Inc (medical and health benefits), and Mr. Vic Ote of Constellation Travel, Inc (crew travel).
Microsoft Philippines presented the benefits of the Office 365 which goes beyond being just an email client.
Emerging technologies and the Customer Relationship Management software were generously shared.
Marine Benefits focused on a different approach to seafarer insurance. Using their network and association as a subsidiary of the Norwegian Hull Club, their aim is to increase safety and decrease cost by improving the well being of the seafarer. This is done through interviews, benchmarking, and gathering of medical data through root cause analysis.
The principals were also treated to a boating trip along Hinaluan and Olango islands.
The Abojeb management and staff were indeed grateful to the principals for allowing them to be a part of sharpening the saw.
Work-life harmony in action. Stronger Together, indeed.
The event was hosted by Abojeb’s Business Development team.
